OFF-BEAT ADVENTURE

The extreme remoteness of the Katavi and Mahale National Parks allow for phenomenal wildlife viewing, and due to their locations, very few people have been treated to this experience. In Katavi you find hippos in their thousands jostling and grunting for space in the water as well as excellent sightings of lions and their prides. At the end of the season in the heat, crocodiles lie lazily on top of each other in the river banks for shade and storks snatch at fish that jump in vain from the diminishing pools. On the edge of Lake Tanganyika in Mahale, trek through forest for rewarding encounters with chimpanzees or to discover hidden waterfalls deep within this enchanting environment. Lazy afternoons can be spent on the lake’s beach or fishing from the traditional dhow.

EXPERIENCE

OLD WORLD AFRICA

The Selous and Ruaha are stunning unknown wildernesses that have been mercifully left off the beaten track. Rather than the big five, the Selous contains variety; night game drives, walking, boating and fishing for tiger fish on the palm-fringed Rufiji River. The Ruaha, the largest national park in the country, is a true African wilderness - ideal for real safari enthusiasts who can enjoy ‘old Africa’, staying in adventurous bush camps. Tanzania’s pristine wildlife experiences and iconic natural features make for some of the most outstanding experiences in Africa.
