THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA
The gentle strumming of ‘The Girl from Ipanema’ almost resonates through the Gisele-like bronzed bodies that stroll along the promenades of Rio de Janeiro’s iconic beaches. Watch the evenings come alive with bright lights and bossa nova music and we can take you behind the scenes to visit the best samba schools that practice in the run up to Carnival.
BRAZILIAN COLONIAL CULTURE
Further down the Emerald Coast in the breezy port town of Paraty, the Portuguese influence has left elegant white houses sitting pretty on cobblestone streets. The surrounding secluded beaches and pristine water make for relaxing days exploring the bays on a schooner. Head further north where Salvador da Bahia’s African culture can be witnessed through energetic capoeira dancing and drumming workshops amidst tropical coloured Portuguese colonial buildings.

ICONIC BRAZIL
PANTANAL
The fertile, protected flood plains of the Pantanal are truly impressive, especially for birders who will find over 650 species. Our favourite time to explore this beautiful area is from a small boat at sunset when the burnt orange light of the evening stretches over the rippling water. Watch the sky then dissolve into pink and purple whilst the harmony of hyacinth macaws and splashes from river otters gently resonate.

REMOTE LUXURY
Chartering a boat down the clear blue waters of the Tapajos River in the Amazon, you can see why explorer Jacques Cousteau called it ‘The Caribbean of the Amazon’. The indigenous tribes that reside within the jungle makes a trip here an exciting rarity.
